Legal
Terms of Use
The one rule: weird? Always. Dangerous? Never. Every challenge and proof must be legal where it’s filmed, safe, and harmless to people, animals and property. Break it and we remove the content, refund the backers and may close your account.
1. The agreement
These Terms are a contract between you and Anomonus FZCO (“FunMode”, “we”, “us”) for the FunMode app and funmode.world (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
2. Who can use FunMode
You must be at least 16 years old and not barred from using the Service under any law, including sanctions. If you’re under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you may use FunMode only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms for you and is responsible for your use of the Service, including purchases. Cash outs are only for adults (see Cash outs). Taking part in challenges and dares for coins, or cashing out, may be restricted where you live — you’re responsible for following your local laws. The Service is void where prohibited.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple. Keep your device and Apple ID secure — you’re responsible for activity on your account. Pick a tag (@handle) that doesn’t impersonate anyone or infringe anyone’s rights. One person, one account; accounts can’t be sold or transferred.
4. Content rules
You must not post, request, fund or perform challenges, or upload proof, that:
- are illegal where they happen, or encourage breaking the law;
- risk injury or harm to you, other people or animals — including dangerous stunts, weapons, drugs, alcohol abuse, eating non-food items, extreme fasting or self-harm;
- damage or trespass on property, or involve vandalism;
- contain nudity, sexual content, hate, harassment, bullying or discrimination;
- film people who haven’t agreed to it, or feature anyone under 16;
- are fake, edited to mislead, or someone else’s work;
- spam, scam, gamble, or try to move money outside FunMode.
Don’t try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get unauthorised access to the Service, or use bots or multiple accounts to manipulate challenges, dares or coins.
5. Solo challenges
- The creator sets a goal and a deadline. Fans tip coins; tips are held by FunMode for the challenge and are not paid to the creator yet.
- If the goal is reached, the creator must do the challenge exactly as described and upload real proof before the deadline.
- After proof is posted there’s a review window during which backers can report it. If no valid report is upheld, the pot, minus FunMode’s platform fee shown in the App, is credited to the creator as earned coins.
- If the goal isn’t reached by the deadline, the creator calls it off, the proof is missing or rejected, or the challenge is removed, every backer’s coins are returned to them.
6. Dare rules (official rules)
Dares are skill-based contests run on FunMode. These rules apply to every dare:
- Organiser and prize. The dare’s creator funds the prize by locking coins from their own wallet when they post it; others may add to it. FunMode holds the prize until the dare ends. No purchase is necessary to enter a dare.
- Who can enter. Any eligible FunMode user except the creator. One proof per person per dare.
- How to enter. Do what the dare asks and upload your proof in the App before the deadline shown on the dare.
- Picking the winner. The creator reviews the proofs and picks the winner — the proof that best and validly completes the dare as described, with the earliest valid proof winning ties. If the creator doesn’t pick within the review period shown in the App, the earliest valid proof wins automatically. FunMode may disqualify any proof that breaks these Terms and review disputed results.
- The prize. The winner receives the prize pot, minus FunMode’s platform fee shown in the App, as earned coins. Prizes can’t be exchanged or transferred except as described in “Cash outs”. Winners are responsible for any taxes on what they win.
- No winner. If no valid proof is submitted, the prize is returned to whoever funded it.
- Odds. Winning depends on completing the dare — not on chance.
- Void where prohibited. Dares are void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in any way with, FunMode’s challenges, dares or prizes. Apple Inc. is not responsible for them.
7. Coins
- Coins are a virtual item that only works inside FunMode. They are not money, a deposit, a security or a payment instrument, and they have no value outside the Service. We grant you a limited, revocable licence to use them as these Terms allow.
- Buying coins. Coins are sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase at the prices shown in the App. A purchase is credited only after Apple confirms it. Purchases are final except where Apple grants a refund or the law requires otherwise; refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Bought coins can be used to tip challenges and fund or boost dare prizes. They can’t be cashed out.
- Test coins. Coins bought in Apple’s test environment (for example in TestFlight or during App Review) can be spent in the App but never cashed out, and payouts funded by them stay test coins.
- Earned coins are coins you receive as a creator’s payout or a dare prize. They can be spent or cashed out.
- If Apple refunds a coin purchase, or coins were credited by mistake or through fraud, we remove the matching coins. If you’ve already spent them, your account shows a balance owed, and cash outs are paused until it’s settled.
- Nobody — including FunMode staff — can add coins to or remove coins from an account outside these rules. Every coin movement is recorded in an append-only ledger.
- We may change coin packs, prices and fees going forward; changes never affect coins already in your account.
8. Cash outs
- Only people who are 18 or older (or the age of majority where they live, if higher) can cash out. If you’re younger, coins you earn stay in your wallet — you can keep using them in FunMode and cash them out once you’re an adult and verified.
- Cash out unlocks once your withdrawable balance reaches the threshold shown in the App (currently $40). After that, you can cash out any amount up to your withdrawable balance.
- New payouts and prizes go through a clearing period shown in the App (currently 14 days) before they become withdrawable, so App Store refunds and fraud can be resolved first. You can spend clearing coins right away.
- Earned coins are converted at the rate shown in the App at the time you request a cash out.
- Before your first cash out, and whenever the law requires, we or our payout provider will verify your identity and payout details. We may delay, refuse or reverse a cash out to comply with law, prevent fraud or money laundering, or if the coins came from activity that breaks these Terms.
- You’re responsible for any taxes on what you earn, and for giving accurate payout details.
9. Your content
You own what you post. You give FunMode a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute and adapt (for example resize or compress) your content to run, improve and promote the Service. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that others have already received. You promise you have the rights to what you post, including the consent of anyone who appears in it.
Sharing outside FunMode
You can share challenges, profiles and your own videos to other apps such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Telegram. Shared videos and images carry the FunMode mark, your @handle and a link back. Only share content you have the rights to, and only your own videos. Once something is posted on another platform, that platform’s terms and privacy policy apply to it, and deleting it there is up to you. Share links (funmode.world/c/… and funmode.world/@…) open a public page with the challenge or profile details that are already public in the App. FunMode may feature public challenges, finished challenges and dare wins on its official channels, such as its Telegram channel; you can opt out in Me → Settings → Official channel.
Dare chains
If you win a dare, you can pass it on as a new dare to your own followers. A passed-on dare is a new dare that you create and fund: you set and pay the prize, you judge the proofs, and these Terms apply to it like to any dare you post. The chain shows the earlier rounds and who created them; it doesn’t give anyone in earlier rounds a share of later prizes.
10. Reports and moderation
Anyone can report a challenge or proof. Content with enough reports is hidden while the FunMode team reviews it. We may remove content, refund backers, reverse payouts made from content that breaks these Terms, and suspend or close accounts. We don’t pre-screen everything and aren’t obliged to monitor the Service, but we act on reports. To report something urgent, email support@funmode.world.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the App (Me → Settings → Delete account). Live challenges are called off and refunded; remaining coins are forfeited, so cash out first. We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms or the law, or to protect other users; where the law requires, we’ll tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive (coins owed, licences already used, disclaimers, liability, disputes) survive termination.
12. Disclaimers
Challenges and dares are created by users, not by FunMode. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and for following the law. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We don’t guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any challenge will be funded or completed.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, FunMode won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or from other users’ content or conduct. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your statutory consumer rights. You agree to indemnify FunMode against claims arising from your content or your breach of these Terms.
14. Apple
If you got FunMode from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and FunMode, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the App or its content, and no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the App fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims — FunMode is. You confirm you’re not in a country subject to U.S. embargo or listed as a terrorist-supporting country, and not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You must also comply with Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions.
15. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction — unless the consumer protection laws of the country where you live give you the right to bring a claim there or to have your local law apply. Before starting any claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the App before it takes effect. If you keep using FunMode after that, the new Terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
