Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect what we need to run FunMode — your account, the challenges and proof you post, and your coin transactions. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account at any time from the app.
1. Who we are
FunMode (the “App”) and funmode.world are operated by Anomonus FZCO (“FunMode”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Questions: privacy@funmode.world.
2. What we collect
Account
- Sign in with Apple: a unique, app-specific identifier from Apple, and — only if you choose to share them — your name and email address (which may be an Apple private relay address). We never see your Apple ID password.
- Profile: the name, tag (@handle), bio and profile photo you add, the handles of your other social accounts if you add them (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Telegram), and when you accepted the FunMode rules.
- Preferences: the language you use the App in.
Content you create
- Challenges and dares you post (title, rules, category, goal or prize, deadline), the videos you record to show what you’ll do, proof photos and videos you upload, notes, and reports you send about other content.
- Follows, people you block, and which challenges you tip, join or win.
Coins and payments
- Purchases: when you buy coins, Apple processes the payment. We receive the signed transaction record from Apple (product, transaction ID, purchase date, country/storefront). We never receive your card or bank details from Apple.
- Coin activity: a record of every coin movement on your account — purchases, tips, prizes, payouts, refunds and cash outs.
- Cash outs: the amount and payout method you choose. To pay you, we or our payout provider may need to verify your identity and collect payout details (for example your bank account or PayPal email) and information required by anti-money-laundering, sanctions and tax laws.
Device and technical data
- A push notification token, if you allow notifications.
- Permission to add to your photo library, only when you save a FunMode video or image to post it elsewhere. We can add files but can’t see your photos.
- Basic request data our servers log for security and reliability: IP address, time, the part of the service used, the app version and device type (user agent), and error details.
What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your precise location, contacts, health data or browsing history. We don’t use advertising identifiers, third-party analytics or ad networks, and we don’t track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. The camera, microphone and photo library are only used when you choose to record or pick a photo or video, and only what you upload reaches us.
3. How we use it, and why
| Purpose | Legal basis (where GDPR-style laws apply) |
|---|---|
| Create and run your account; show your profile and content | Performance of our contract with you (the Terms of Use) |
| Process coins: credit verified purchases, hold tips and prizes, pay out, refund | Contract; legal obligations (accounting, tax) |
| Verify identity and payout details before cash outs; prevent fraud and money laundering | Legal obligations; our legitimate interest in keeping FunMode and its users safe |
| Moderate content, review reports, enforce the rules | Legitimate interest; legal obligations |
| Send notifications about your challenges, tips, payouts and followers | Contract; your consent for push notifications (you can turn them off in iOS Settings) |
| Keep the service secure and working; fix bugs | Legitimate interest |
| Answer your support requests | Contract; legitimate interest |
We don’t use your data for advertising, and we don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. Our automatic safety filter only blocks challenge text that looks dangerous; you can edit and try again, or contact us.
4. Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent personal data. We share it only with:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchases (including refund notifications) and push notifications.
- Telegram — to run our official channel and bot (see “What other people can see”).
- Other apps you share to — when you tap a share option (for example Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X or Telegram), the video, image, caption or link you chose is handed to that app on your device. We don’t receive data back from them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply to what you post there.
- Infrastructure providers who host our servers and store uploaded media for us, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions.
- Payout and verification providers — only when you cash out, to verify you and send you money.
- Authorities — when required by law, or to protect the safety of people, to prevent fraud, or to defend our legal rights.
- A successor — if FunMode is merged or acquired, subject to this policy.
5. What other people can see
Your name, @handle, bio, profile photo, follower counts, the challenges you post (including your plan video), and SOLO proofs are visible to other FunMode users. Dare proofs are visible only to you and the dare’s creator until a winner is picked; the winning proof becomes visible to everyone. Top supporters of a challenge are shown on it. Your coin balance, purchases and cash outs are never shown to others.
Every challenge and profile also has a share link (funmode.world/c/… and funmode.world/@…). Anyone with the link can open a public web page showing the same details other FunMode users see: the challenge title, description, goal or prize and progress, and your name, @handle, photo, bio, social handles and counts. These pages never show proofs, videos, supporters’ names or anything from hidden or removed challenges, and they ask search engines not to index them.
FunMode also posts some public challenges, finished challenges and dare wins on its official Telegram channel (t.me/funmodeworld), with the same public details and preview card. You can turn this off for your challenges in Me → Settings → Official channel; posts about your challenges are then no longer made, and earlier posts are taken down. If you message our Telegram bot, Telegram shares your chat ID and language with us so the bot can answer; we don’t store your messages.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and content: while your account exists. When you delete your account, we erase your name, handle, bio, email, photo and Apple sign-in link right away, and remove your uploads within 30 days.
- Financial records: the coin ledger, purchase and cash-out records are kept for as long as accounting, tax and anti-money-laundering laws require (generally 5–10 years), linked to an anonymised account.
- Server logs: up to 30 days, longer only if needed to investigate a security incident.
- Reports and moderation decisions: as long as needed to keep the community safe and handle disputes.
7. How we protect it
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Sign-in sessions are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and rotate regularly. Purchases are checked against Apple’s cryptographic signatures before any coins are credited. Every coin movement is written to an append-only, double-entry ledger that can’t be edited after the fact — not even by FunMode staff. Media files are only reachable through short-lived signed links (profile photos excepted, since they’re public). Access to production systems is limited to a small number of people. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as required by law.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or other privacy laws), you may have the right to access your data, get a copy in a portable format, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to some processing, and withdraw consent. You can edit your profile and delete your account directly in the App. For anything else, email privacy@funmode.world from the address linked to your account (or tell us your @handle) — we’ll answer within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We don’t “sell” or “share” personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by California law.
9. Deleting your account
In the App: Me → Settings → Delete account. Your live challenges are called off and everyone who backed them is refunded, pending proofs are withdrawn, your personal data is erased and your Sign in with Apple connection is revoked. Coins left on the account are forfeited, so cash out what you can first. If you can’t access the App, email privacy@funmode.world.
10. Age
FunMode is for people who are 16 or older. If you’re under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to use it, and cash outs are only for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 is using FunMode, tell us and we’ll delete the account.
11. International transfers
FunMode is available worldwide, so your data may be processed in countries other than yours, including where our infrastructure providers operate. Where the law requires it, we use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as FunMode changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and if the change is significant we’ll tell you in the App before it takes effect.
